9mm Luger Ammo

The 9mm Luger is a pistol cartridge developed in the early 20th century and standardized for military, civilian and law enforcement use around the world. It was designed by Georg Luger and introduced alongside the Parabellum pistol. The cartridge is rimless with a tapered case and uses a bullet diameter of approximately 9 millimeters. Its design balances manageable recoil with effective terminal performance which made it widely adopted for service pistols and submachine guns.

The 9mm ammo is loaded to a variety of pressures depending on intended use from target shooting through duty use. Typical bullet weights range from about 115 to 147 grains. The 9mm ammo is noted for its relatively flat trajectory at common handgun distances and its compatibility with a large range of firearms designed around this chambering. It has become one of the most common handgun ammo in the world due to this combination of size, performance, and availability.
